A Little Digging

Cities are fascinating places. Even more so when one understands the history behind the present day story. What role a major street played in the business history of a city. Or how prominent was a particular site four or five generations ago? RBC Centre, along with Simcoe Place, occupies one of those sites. Actually, it sits on one of the most storied development sites in all of Canada. Today, the site bounded by Front, Simcoe, Wellington and John Streets is at the centre of a new, expanding Toronto; 150 years ago, it was the place where people met, debated and set in motion what was to become Canada.

In our busy, modern lives, we often forget to pause and do a little digging. That's unfortunate, because looking under the rocks can be so interesting. If you're a digger, we welcome the company.
